Foppe Technical Group, Inc. served as the Environmental Project Manager for the New Construction and Demolition since May 2000. FOPPE was tasked with conducting a preliminary hazardous materials assessment of the areas of Cinergy Field designated for early demolition and renovation. The results of this assessment were to be used to develop bid specifications for hazardous material abatement work in those areas. These tasks were completed within one month of signing the preliminary agreement. The hazardous materials survey was completed in the subsequent month along with the Phase I investigation, and remediation/abatement contractors were hired through an open bidding process within 3 months of Project initiation.
To date, FOPPE has provided real-time, responsive support to Hamilton County to address all environmental issues as they are encountered and anticipated throughout the project. The initial phase of the abatement work was completed within 6 weeks of contract award. When impacted soil was encountered in the construction zone, FOPPE responded immediately to assess the nature of the impact and worked with Hunt Construction Group, Inc. to manage the impacted soils in a way that minimized schedule impacts and reduced costs through appropriate off site treatment and disposal. Currently, FOPPE is working with the demolition contractor to complete the Phase II investigation of areas of environmental concern based on the Phase I findings as well as continuing assessment activities on the release of gasoline from the former underground storage tank system at this facility. FOPPE has demonstrated availability on an as needed basis to provide environmental support and assessment in a way that minimizes impacts to schedules and costs.
