Being one of the top geotechnical engineering firms in Ohio and Kentucky, FOPPE is a turn-key site development engineering firm that provides “total design-build support” for architects, developers, contractors and municipalities. FOPPE has complete site development engineering capabilities under one roof.
Your project can be efficiently and effectively completed by FOPPE's geotechnical consultants. Columbus, Ohio is one of the many cities in Ohio that FOPPE can work on and complete a project. All projects, big or small, can be done by a licensed geotechnical engineer. Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, or West Virginia, FOPPE will provide you with cost effective, geotechnical engineering solutions.
Geotechnical Investigations |
|
FOPPE investigates existing site conditions through a variety of means. Test pit explorations or hollow-stem auger borings are the most common. Consideration is typically given to such items as existing site surface, subsurface, and groundwater conditions prior to making recommendations. |
- Drilling/Field Sampling
- Laboratory Testing
- Earthwork Recommendations
- Foundation/Pavement Recommendations
- Stability Analysis

FOPPE engineers or senior engineering technicians will visit your project site to observe and assess the condition of the surface materials that will hold the footings. Typically, this phase of the work is a follow-up to the geotechnical exploration. On smaller projects a foundation evaluation may be performed without a preceding geotechnical evaluation. In this case, various means are used to assess the subsurface conditions in the field, including hand-augers, hand-driven sampling devices, test pits, as well as a variety of hand-operatated soil strength measurement devices, like clay penetrometers and Humboldt pocket penetrometers. Site conditions are documented, and where appropriate, recommendations are given for appropriate corrective measures to be implemented where unsuitable or unfavorable site conditions are noted.
If you are looking for a geotechnical engineer, (Kentucky, Ohio, or Indiana), then FOPPE is one-stop source for all your geotechnical engineering needs.
